STORY AND HIGHLIGHTS
Ramses is a character from the 2006 film Nacho Libre, portrayed by Mexican wrestler Silver King, whose real name was César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón. In the movie, he is presented as the dominant rudo champion and the main antagonist, with a striking golden presentation that became highly recognizable among fans. Public sources about Silver King note that he also used the Ramses identity sporadically in wrestling appearances beyond the film, in addition to the movie role itself. Prior to that period, Silver King had a long professional wrestling career and is remembered for working across several promotions, especially for his international visibility and heavyweight style. His legacy became closely tied to Ramses, a character that made him widely known outside the ring. Silver King died on May 11, 2019 in London during a match, as confirmed by public sources.
