La Parka

STORY AND HIGHLIGHTS

La Parka

La Parka was a Mexican professional wrestler recognized by his signature skeleton-themed look. Public sources agree that he first appeared in AAA in 1992, and that he later drew WCW’s attention after taking part in the 1994 When Worlds Collide event, which led to his debut with the Atlanta-based promotion in 1996. In WCW, he became especially popular for his charisma, distinctive presentation, and frequent use of a steel chair, which earned him the nickname “The Chairman of WCW.” Among his most remembered moments are his appearances in the cruiserweight scene, his constant role as a standout crowd favorite, and his long rivalry with Cibernético in AAA, which culminated in a mask vs. mask match at Triplemanía XII, won by La Parka. Public records also credit him with various championships and honors. According to public sources, the man behind the character, Jesús Alfonso Escoboza Huerta, died on January 11, 2020.
